Why you shouldn’t dismiss apps like Canva and mojo as a creative
As a creative you probably have some sort of professional design program/suite like Adobe CC. These professional programs are amazing and provide you with so many tools (with plenty you’ve probably never touched – this is definitely the case for me). Even thought I’ve been using Adobe Creative Suite for many years now, I’m still learning about different tools through different design tasks for customers.
In a world where everyone wants everything yesterday, time isn’t always on your side and creating something from scratch in one of these programs may take you quite a bit of time especially if it requires using a tool you’ve never used before.
Apps like Canva and mojo are quite handy in these situations. They allow you to create amazing designs and videos quickly. This is because you work from existing templates. I’ve found myself using both these apps when creating content for social media as it’s a lot quicker than opening up a program like Adobe Photoshop.
Although these apps won’t be able to replace a professional suite like Adobe due to lack of flexibility and advanced tools, I do believe they have their place to work alongside them. They definitely shouldn’t be dismissed when exploring what path to go down when given a design brief.
